“Video” Purportedly Shows BL Swiftsteeds Breaking Stomp Blockade in Elgea

BL swiftsteeds purportedly busting a blockade in Elgea

An anonymous comment and brief animation submitted to the Times purports to show a Stomps blockade on an Elgean city in Fremorn belonging to a player in a BL land claiming alliance being broken by swiftsteeds sent from the Broken Lands.

The “video” depicts two frames — a before and after of the blockade break — which took place at the coordinates -683|629 in Fremorn. At present, the tactical map reveals some crafted gear still laying beside the site of the purported battle.

Very little is known about this blockade, and due to the lack of information about the battle, the Times cannot verify more than what it depicted in the animation and its accompanying anonymous comment, which simply reads: “A blockade on a Land Claim alliance city in Elgea broken by Swiftsteeds from TBL.”

In Illyriad, positioning blockades is often used by players to prevent a city from exodusing before a siege army arrives. The use of exodus has already been used widely in the Stomps/BL claimers war thus far, with Stomper Valdorum recently exodusing away from an oncoming SIN siege. It is possible that the city had been blockaded by a Stomps player ahead of a siege arriving.

Given the fact that the city appears to have exodused away after the breaking of the blockade, it is plausible that a siege was inbound.

    • My apologies, Agalloch. That was a typo on my part; I meant to say “Valdorum.” I’ve gone ahead and made the edit in the news article. Thanks for the heads up!
