YARR! Unraveling as Infighting Plagues Leadership Core

A quick glance of the YARR/TUF score card, as well as public opinion polls on who is winning the conflict, would suggest that YARR remains firmly in the lead over TUF. However, recent developments point to a shift in morale, with TUF regaining its balance after a series of lost siege battles, and YARR leadership losing several key players.

The first in a string of personnel setbacks for YARR came with the controversy surrounding YARR’s Jaxi, who after reportedly receiving a hefty GC chat ban for making inappropriate remarks, abandoned after several YARR members complained about the matter. Jaxi was the alt of Earl Jax, founder of Hansa and a key player in expanding YARR after a series of mergers. His abandoned profile states, “As of June 5 2016 I decided to take my leave from Illyriad due to my behavior.”

Curmudgeon, who has also since left YARR, was particularly critical of Jaxi’s antics in GC. “I am glad you got banned from GC,” he reportedly said weeks ago in an alliance-wide IGM for the entire alliance to read. “If we weren’t in a war I would have quit the alliance when you came off with that nasty trash. I was certainly embarrassed to be part of an alliance whose joint leader would talk that way.”

Curm did go on to quit YARR on June 13, though not over this incident. Tips to the Times as well as comments left here indicate that that major confrontation between he and Josh over the handling of the situation with Hell led to his departure, and the following day, destroyed the RUM alliance, which was also implicated in the controversy:

[14 Jun 13:00]<PublicRelations> Curm and Muad just kicked everyone in RUM
[14 Jun 13:00]<PublicRelations> and changed the name

The remaining “rump alliance” is now called “deadmen walking” [dead] and only has two accounts in it, one of which is Muad’Dib.

It appears that Curmudgeon has taken a “scorched earth” approach to the controversy, and in comments on the Times, made public his conflict with Josh’s decisions, as well as other disagreements with YARR leadership decisions during the war:

I did not agree with Josh’s decision to attack Hell’s siege either the first or second time, just as I didn’t agree with his decision to attack Viperone’s last town in Pawa when he was clearly leaving the region. I confirm those decisions were made without discussing them with anyone else in Yarr! and were only announced after being actioned. I strenuously deny Josh’s allegations that I am a multi-accounter with accounts in more than one side of the conflict. I have left Yarr! and since I have been labelled as a major protagonist in the war, I am open to being targeted by TUF or being able to negotiate on a personal basis, with the caveat that no towns will be exodused from their home location.

Josh has not left comments on the Times regarding claims that Curmudgeon is a multi-accounter, though this contentious remark is clearly another dimension of the rift. Since this time, Josh has pulled his HumanResources account from YARR.

While YARR appears to be in disarray, TUF’s Agalloch has also reportedly offered a peace agreement to end the war. Details of the agreement have not be disclosed, but with the loss of two key members and a slow-down in YARR siege operations, it is possible that a “white peace” agreement with few if any terms could be in the works for ending the war.

  1. its sorta comical that they mess up the alliance name that they are talking about, instead of watered down liquor, they say butt, one wonders on the true neutrality of the paper

  2. Hmmm. So YARR falls a part because of Drama….and then TUF invites all the ones who caused the drama to its ranks? So how long until the same happens to TUF? Lol.

  3. Sorry but Yarr isn’t falling apart, its going to take more than a couple drama sluts whoring it up to take us down.

  4. Joshy switches sides then gets all flustered when there’s a story about it. This isn’t your forum post desperately selling a tome.. the Times can post what it wants 😀

    • in summary, in order to defeat an enemy, send your worst player to them, ie, josh, go to sin, you shall then succeed in destroying the paper

  6. I feel pretty stupid at being played so badly by Josh, but can take consolation from the backhanded compliment that one of the peace terms that Josh in TUF insisted on when trying to negotiate with Josh in Yarr! was that Yarr! never let me rejoin them.
