TUF Sieges SIN City on the Move in Shardlands

Screen Shot 2015-10-02 at 9.13.12 amAn insurgent SIN city that recently moved into the Shardlands is now under full siege assault by TUF. SIN officials confirmed to the Times that war expert Ten Kulch has exodused a militarized city directly into the heart of TUF’s southern cluster of cities, and is now drawing heavy fire.

The Herald’s siege section reported on the first two arriving siege forces:

Ten Kulch [SIN] Extinction Level Event [269|-3073] in Shardlands ThorOdin [TUF] Fri 22 Jul 17:57
Ten Kulch [SIN] Extinction Level Event [270|-3072] in Shardlands ThorOdin [TUF] Fri 22 Jul 18:34

Later, trailing siege forces from TUF leader Agalloch’s alt Elfs Bane also arrived on the scene:

Ten Kulch [SIN] Extinction Level Event [271|-3074] in Shardlands Elfs Bane [TUF] Fri 22 Jul 21:17
Ten Kulch [SIN] Extinction Level Event [271|-3073] in Shardlands Elfs Bane [TUF] Sat 23 Jul 04:10

There is also a blockade in place.

Nothing at this time is known about the composition of the sieges — only that all of the assaults are positioned on plains. TUF is employing the best tactic for a plains siege by using multiple sieges at once to hasten the de-leveling of the city before cavalry clearing can arrive from SIN. It’s a race against the clock at this point.

SIN has consistently used the exodus strategy to position cities close in to their adversaries. Their use of unsiegeable locations in the Newlands during NW2 gave rise to a new tactic that Unbow quickly adopted as well.

With four sieges firing, however, it remains to be seen if T^Ten Kulch can keep the city alive long enough for it to be a true benefit.

Two opposing forces clash against each other.

Cavalry comes into its own when able to strike hostile forces at will, and from unexpected directions – and nowhere is this more feasible than on open plains. Lightly armoured spear units, however, prefer terrain where there’s some cover available.

Fighting defensively on open plains, cavalry draws strength from the ability to form and reform their lines of engagement depending on the direction of battle, and it is here where cavalry excels.

here is Den that exodused his town out of the long white and now went back on his word after we recalled the siege on his town.

    Bravo SINNers!!!

    • According to the War Score Card rules: “if an alliance drops a player out of the alliance before a siege touches down, it will not count on the War Score Card unless the alliance re-instates that player after the siege. If the player is reinstated at any point during the war, any sieges conducted against his or her cities will be retroactively scored for the sieging alliance.” The Times did not report on the Den siege because the account had dropped out of SIN prior to its arrival. With Den brought back into the alliance, even though the city was not actually razed, it will count as a technical siege victory for TUF for the purposes of scoring.

    • Oh come on, Agalloch. This is the pot calling the kettle black, man! You pledged to Stuk at the start of our war with SHARK that you’d stay out, and you totally went back on your word there. IGMs:

      Aga,

I appreciate your explanation about how us bringing in some of the Death guys was your cue to oppose SIN, but it doesn’t really wash with what you originally said. See below — this was the IGM you sent me just after joining, and you didn’t even mention Death. I know you had a past with them from your involvement in the Stomp war, but to say that that was the reason for joining SHARK — and the justification — seems a bit revisionist on your part.

What I think it was is that you were in AESIR, which has had some close ties with Pico and SHARK. You were friends with Pico, and when he started Stomps, he asked you in. And when you were there, you formed strong bonds with many of the people in SHARK. This is why you continue to align with them — you’re playing the game with the, and you’re on their side. I don’t think that’s wrong — like you said, to have any fun in this game you gotta choose a side — but it’s silly to keep sort of pretending that you’re neutral. I think it’s better to be honest, since it will put us in a better position in terms of negotiating in the future. We’re clearly negotating as enemies.

      Does that make sense?

No it wasnt the only reason as always things add to the total but that reason has come to the top as things panned out so I guess I do apply some revisionism you are correct.

Sometimes I tend to not be totally coherent as well or fail to get my point across, being in aesir did have a huge impact at the time (stomps) with godiva being in there, but that doesnt apply to all aesirs position vis vis sin I think you guys have a few admirers there actually. Funny factoid when one of the vets there had started a semi poll on aesir creating a claim in pawan I had voted in favor of it so as you can see I have a long history of jumping all over the issue!

so yeah boredom , past associations, death players would be the main reasons I joined in wish I had spoken to some players actually before I joined, I totally had no clue ( yet again) that there was internal strife there, thinkin back I should have spoken to Ron before I did but anyways you cant blame a guy for trying to make himself look good when he is covered in shit!

      • “yes and I paid 500 mil gold for that mistake that I owned up to by the way, so where is my refund??”

        LOL

Refund? Your 500 million didn’t buy you everlasting peace with SIN. This deal you made with Stuk wasn’t a “peace agreement” — it was a payoff to keep us from wailing on you, Aga. And had you not declared war on us this time around, it would have probably been the best 500 million investment you ever made in the game. ; )

  2. Looks like 10-15 battering rams and 15-30 catapults in each siege camp. Four siege camps. It’s a pretty good headlock, better than what Unbow was able to throw at me. The city is already near raze population for the first camps.
