The Unfettered remains the hottest military alliance in the game, with the alliance’s leader and warlord Agalloch continuing to rack up impressive victories in wars against Broken Lands aggressors. TUF’s most recent accomplishment: defeating both YARR and RE in their recent wars. Peace between TUF and RE was recently announced in GC:
[06:49]<System> ** News flash: War ends and peace declared between Roman Empire [RE] and The Unfettered [TUF]
While the terms of peace have yet to be disclosed, TUF was the clear winner in this war. TUF razed five RE cities and broke the sieges of two RE sieges. Roman Empire never managed to raze even one TUF city.
To be fair, RE was completely outmatched against TUF, which sits on the first page of alliance rankings, with 28 members and 3,825 squares of land claimed. Roman Empire has only three more alliance members, but only claims 1,679 in land.
The same can be said of TUF’s defeat of YARR, which only has 2,002 squares claimed in spite of having 41 members. However, considering that TUF had to fight YARR, RE and SIN simultaneously, the victories are indeed very impressive — especially against two alliances that claim to be military-focused in scope. In spite of YARR’s slight edge in points on the War Score Card, TUF managed to push them out of Pawanallpa and otherwise rebuffed YARR’s war declaration and mission.
Now, all that remains for a TUF victory is to vanquish The Hashashin, who by some accounts have stumbled into its war with TUF after a few SIN members attacked Josh without permission from leadership. SIN finds itself out of position against TUF, and from the early goings of the war, could struggle in dominating, since TUF appears to be every bit SIN’s match in terms of activity from its members.
The pressure is clearly on SIN, who currently find themselves losing to TUF on the War Score Card.

The discontinuance of the war has a lot to do with dev intervention. Yarr lost 4 accounts to the devs in 3 weeks. The Pawa hub was clearly broken, which was the primary reason for starting the war, when Drax abandoned, Muad’dib and Blackguard got busy in real life, and Curm abandoned from legal issues – which all happened about the same time Josh switched teams.
Additionally, and as I believe I mentioned in another comment, Tuf got a lot of goodwill from our members by not just granting the cease fire when Ranalos was banned, but being the ones to propose it. We were able to continue the war, but given the reason for the war was gone, it seemed the logical time to end it.
I don’t think Tuf will claim that they beat us in a military sense – we stayed on the offensive the whole time, and took cities from active war participants, while the cities they captured or razed were smaller or inactive players.
Final point, more than half the members currently in Tuf were not there when the war began, so the Tuf of today is not the same opponent, despite having returned to the same name, as who we started against.
I will say Tuf fought well and made few mistakes, but if they are being honest, they will admit we did not lose to them, we ended the war due to outside forces.

You bring some valid points to the table. I’d say Stalemate/Draw in my book Sol. You never know how things would have turned out later down the road. Maybe you would’ve added more players to your roaster, maybe we would’ve added even more to ours. I’m just glad the collateral damage is still fixable for both sides.
It was a good war, one that will be remembered for both our teams I’m sure. Players will carry on their disputes and skirmishes in this game till it stops. Many players have a “true enemy” – enemies and friends form through playing the game. And as so many times before, fighting someone creates some form of bond and it is only sealed even more through conversation and joking.
Hope you enjoyed it and hope to fight in a war with you again some day.
Josh

The war was ended because our former leaders were banned. Please interview both sides before posting articles like this. 😊

I wasn’t interviewed :O

RE made peace because yarr decided to end hostilities , we were not defeated military, our hub remains strong and never was a city razed in westmarch, just isolated ones, white peace was made, i think the illyriad times needs to do its research before posting things

lol — and how exactly is SIN “out of position” against TUF? In our last 6 missions, we razed two of persona non grata’s cities, one of dsasa’s, and Ken Rychard, Thorodin and Nick all exoed away from us. Not sure how all that amounts to us being on the verge of losing this war.

…but…but, the Times is clearly biased towards SIN.

Point of Clarification: I did not so much flee FROM SIN as I did move TO my friends in TUF. This had been planned for months and the war simply gave me a little more motivation. Its not like SIN had directly made any threatening moves. There were a few feints, some diplomatic attacks, and one probing siege on the one town with a single non plains adjacent square which I razed immediately. We didn’t even bother reporting this to the times as we knew this was not a serious move on SIN’s part and don’t particularly think the Time’s scorecard is worth its weight in dog poop.
In general, SIN has played patiently and has concentrated its efforts on TUF’s hotheads. And since I’m NOT as vocal and aggressive as my friends Ive been left pretty much alone. I did realize Id be unable to support my 100k+ cavalry after moving so I suicide them by attacking Fiona’s spearman guarding the Silversteel mine. A terrible tactical decision to send cavalry to attack on obsidian mountains against tens of thousands of Kobold spearmen, but better than losing them to negative gold after the moves. I think Fiona had a good laugh about it as her defensive score skyrocketed.
I have to agree with jejune, how any of the moves up until now could be interpreted as indicating SIN is “losing” would mean taking the Times and its scorecard seriously. I am more inclined to let the outcome be determined by the actions of the players than by the opinion of anonymous pseudo journalists

Yeah, I must admit. Really shitty reporting this time. My guess looking at the added members to TuF’s roster, they are just a bunch of semi active people still bitter about getting beaten so badly last time that they have handed sitting rights to TuF to use their troops now that their cities are basically safe in Elgea.
But then, not being part of the war anymore it is just speculation on my part. Long live trading and raiding.

Well AianDick/kerzac/ThorOdin (Sorry about missing the other accounts you are running) I am a player watching with amusement how you guys fight this war. After your failed attempt at dragging WoT into the battle I see you left them and went to TuF. Well, perhaps the other account you are using in another alliance will have more success?

Seems to be getting very interesting this war. TuF seems to be messing with the game code now and are able to siege on terrain that is impassable thus preventing attacks. Very clever but you better hope the GM’s do not ban you for that.

Thats dry snitching. lol nice attempt though.

I must apologize, TuF are not cheating as I suspected but are just using a game mechanic that works. Well done on the discovery guys.

If you want me to continue attacking your alt you just need to ask. Sending little diplo attacks is one way but I respect a more direct approach. I did tell Aga I would leave you alone till you finished your war but if you continue I guess I will need to retaliate.
I guess AianDick seems to be a little stressed and running all those accounts is taking its toll. Well, perhaps he will realize eventually that 2 accounts are more than enough to have fun with.

First of all I allreasy told aian that his sense of humor doesnt transalate well on igm’s he had shared that exchange with us and to refrain from such in the future on the other hand you accusing us of multiing is not cool either just because a player does not speak in GC does not make em a sat account your persistance that aian is kerzap is mistaken and quite funny actually.

Ok, I will lay off calling him out but it still does not excuse his personal attack. Seems like he is a bit sensitive all round. But then what else can one expect from him? Hope this little war ends soon so he play big boy and actually come after me if he feels so threatened.

I have to say Nick, based on that mail, I want nothing more to do with you. You have a sick mind and I find it offensive and disgusting. If this was a joke, then you have a sick sense of humor. Please dont contact me again. I will be blocking you in GC as well.
