YARR/TUF War Spills Into Newlands; SIN Sieges Josh & Fails As New War Ramps Up

Screen Shot 2015-08-15 at 11.31.17 AMYARR leader Ranalos led a multi-siege on Josh in Newlands, pitting the once-allied players against one another in a major dwarven smackdown. The Herald’s siege section is reporting the three new siege camps:

PublicRelations [TUF] bb Assimilated Corpse [134|-2217] in Newlands Ranalos [YARR!] Tue 28 Jun 07:32
PublicRelations [TUF] bb Assimilated Corpse [135|-2217] in Newlands Ranalos [YARR!] Tue 28 Jun 07:57
PublicRelations [TUF] bb Assimilated Corpse [133|-2217] in Newlands Ranalos [YARR!] Tue 28 Jun 08:03

The multi-siege operation is targeting a plains city, and is accompanied by several blockades as well.

Ranalos’ move is likely a response to the recent string of successful TUF siege operations that have ostensibly leveled out the YARR/TUF war. On Sunday, the Illyriad Telegraph reported that YARR’s Urlond Bloodaxe, losing the cities of cities of Haledur and Khedesh to both Agalloch and Josh, respectively, marking three successful sieges in the space of a week. YARR also managed during this time to raze Dark Dan I’s city of Castle Pills.

Just at the publishing of this article, YARR oficials provided proof of the raze on Josh’s city:

bb Assimilated Corpse razed!

bb Assimilated Corpse, belonging to PublicRelations which was located at 134|-2218 has been razed by Ranalos.

Josh has lost another town. He’s been exodusing into his Clarien hub, but we caught one here. I had concerns, because a Sin siege landed after we launched, and I didn’t want to hit that, but Josh cleared it before we got there.

SIN Rogue Ops Lead To New TUF-SIN Conflict

Josh’s city of Assimilated Corpse is not new to siege, and was recently part of a SIN siege led by rogue players, the Times has learnt. Several sieges have been sent at Josh accounts by SIN, which in turn prompted a war declaration by TUF.

The Times managed to grab these siege announcements from the Herald, which appear to show what has turned out to be siege failures:

PublicRelations [TUF] bb Assimilated Corpse [133|-2217] in Newlands Deo Volente [SIN] Mon 27 Jun 12:59
PublicRelations [TUF] cc Nightmare Lemonade [278|-1960] in Newlands Elanderrich [SIN] Mon 27 Jun 14:28
PublicRelations [TUF] cc Nightmare Lemonade [278|-1958] in Newlands Elanderrich [SIN] Mon 27 Jun 14:29

At the time of this writing, Josh’s city of cc Nightmare Lemonade is still standing, and Deo Volente’s siege of bb Assimilated Corpse also appeals to have been broken. The fact that Ranalos is now sieging the same city is suggesting to some that SIN may have asked YARR for assistance after losing these siege operations to TUF. The first siege in the mounting conflict, which was on 3 – Legion! Legion who? — appears to have been a success, however, and the siege that prompted TUF to declare on SIN.

Given that there has been a war declaration and at least three siege operations in the conflict, the Times feels that there is sufficient evidence to suggest that a War Score Card is warranted. At the outset, TUF and SIN appear tied, with two siege breaks for TUF (2 points) and one raze for SIN (2 points).

If the Times is missing information on other siege operations, please send to the Times editors.

SIN’s Goldy1 Defects To TUF; Unbow’s Spektor Joins Ranks

In a final note, the Times has been made aware of two notable roster moves, with SIN’s Goldy1 defecting to TUF, and former Unbow leader Spektor joining their ranks as well. Goldy1 has been a vocal troll in GC for SIN and involved in several of their operations in the past. Considered a veteran of SIN, his defection shows possible weakness in SIN ranks. Goldy is the second defector that TUF has picked up recently, the other being Josh, who betrayed YARR in the midst of the YARR/TUF war and switched sides.

Little is known about Spektor’s motivations for joining TUF, however, his addition to the ranks appears to be in line with the fresh SIN/TUF tensions.

YARR/TUF War Shifts to Shardlands, As Malus Sieges Mex

Screen Shot 2015-10-02 at 9.13.12 amAfter a major siege battle in the deserts of Pawanallpa that led to the razing of TUF co-leader Agalloch’s city of Megadeth, the YARR/TUF war has taken another turn, with YARR looking to engage TUF elsewhere in the Broken Lands map.

The Herald’s siege section is reporting the details of the siege, which touched down midday, server time:

Mexican dwarf [TUF] Latino Land [331|-2769] in Shardlands Malus [YARR!] Fri 20 May 14:01

Malus has taken advantage of a small forest located to the west of the city for the siege. currently, there is no blockade in place.

TUF only has a hanful of cities in the immediate viscinity of Latino Land, however, there is a larger enclave of cities in the southern portion of Shardlands that could provide defensive support to the city and possibly challenge the siege army itself.

SIN Takes Down First Unbow City as Darth Darius’ City of Gondor Falls

Screen Shot 2015-11-17 at 6.27.30 pmSIN has further added to its successful weekend of siege, successfully razing its first city in Newlands flying the new Unbow banner. SIN officials confirmed that Darth Darius’ city of Gondor, originally located in western Newlands, has been razed.

In a comment on the Times, SIN leadership member Ten Kulch filled in some of the details of the few battles that took place during the siege. “30+ hours into the Gondor mission, and your expectation seems destined for disappointment,” Kulch said in response to an analysis by veteran times commenter zebraphile. “Only one real shot fired in the city’s defense.”

Later on Kulch reported on what appears to have been one of only a handful of notable hits on the Gondor siege: “A 5500 chariot pop by King A, around the midpoint of the siege. The city population has dropped quickly so far. I expect to see it razed before brunch tomorrow. The cannon fodders are disappointed that there hasn’t been much fighting. We thought a 23000 population city would be more exciting than this.”

The Times cannot independently confirm any of Ten Kulch’s claims in the comments, though eyewitness reporting revealing few hits on the siege point to veracity in his reports.

For SIN, it is their 17th successful siege, and Tink XX’s 5th raze in the war — the siege leader for SIN, who has as many razes herself as SHARK, Unbow, and VIC have for the entire war combined.

REPORT: SHARK Razed ex-SIN City in Fellandire; SHARK-VIC Claim Account Dropped While Siege en Route

Both VIC and SHARK have contacted the Times claiming that a recently razed city in Fellandire by the confederacy was in fact a siege operation originally targeted at a SIN player. A SHARK member, who asked not to identified on account of the sensitive nature of the information, noted on January 26th that a siege on ElJamon, up until recently a SIN member, was in fact meant to target the player while still in SIN. Since then, the city has fallen. These were the siege details:

ElJamon Warrior Storm [834|-2341] in Fellandire Stephen Stormcrow [VIC] Mon 25 Jan 02:00

According to the information, the siege touched down 28 hours after ElJamon left SIN. The timeframe suggests that the siege on his city was already on the move when ElJamon left or was dropped. Later on, Stephen Stormcrow himself contacted the Times and explained that the VIC siege was actually part of the recent rush of SHARK-VIC counter-sieges in Fellandire and Newlands. Stephen noted the timeline of events of ElJamon leaving SIN:

This city/account appears to have been a sat account by one or more SIN members and up until the day or two prior to the actual siege landing, was a part of the SIN alliance.

Prior to the siege actually landing, SIN ejected this account from their alliance.  While I don’t know the reasoning for this action, I do find it interesting.  Perhaps the alliance did not wish to waste military units defending a sat account, which I find completely understandable.  What I find peculiar is the need to kick the account out of their alliance. Perhaps SIN felt they could avoid negative publicity by not having the city on their roles prior to it actually being razed.

While it remains to be seen if ElJamon was a sat account that SIN lost control of in the run-up to the siege, or if they dropped the account from the alliance to avoid having to defend yet another siege operation on bad terrain (ElJamon’s city had already been defended once and had a building next to it), his player growth charts suggests that the account began to flatline on the 25th when he was dropped from the alliance:

Screen Shot 2016-01-29 at 10.24.05 am

The departure of the ElJamon account from SIN in the face of this VIC siege could suggest that the alliance has run thin of defensive infantry in Fellandire, that the account was indeed sat and could not be exodused or pres built, or both.

This is not the first time that accounts have dropped from their alliances to avoid being counted as sieges. Early in the war, VIC’s Pehu attempted to drop out of the alliance with an inbound siege approaching. After rejecting SIN’s terms, we rejoined VIC, but managed to exodus his city away, avoiding the raze.

PRESS RELEASE: Dissolution of T-SC

During the Newlands War, T-SC was invited to merge with T-O and Heat.  Before we can merge, though, 3 things were required of us: first we had to drop our land claim, second we had to end our conflict with SHARK and third we had to pull out of the DSD.  As to the first, let it be known that T-SC is dropping its land claim.  Now for the second, the DSD has agreed to terms with SHARK but SHARK has not signed the peace offers with TVM and T-SC. The following are 2 IGMs that lay out the exact terms of the agreement, the initial offer from SHARK is here:

Nikgon,

Thanks for your patience while I consulted resolution with Council. I have provided a list of terms Dark Shade requests in an effort to bring peace to our alliances.

1) Return both SS mines taken by T-SC in the conflict

2) TCol settles a penalty of $400M gold

3) TVM, RE and T-SC (combined) exodus 10 cities of 2k or higher population from NewLands and agree to not settle/exodus cities in Newlands moving forward

4) RE settles a penalty of $100M gold

Provided these terms are met by the alliances above, Dark Shade is ready to cease hostilities immediately and to formally declare peace.

Thanks again for your efforts in working toward peace between our alliances.

BayNights

Term #3 was renegotiated in a series of IGMs, the other terms were immediately agreed to by DSD.  there were several IGMs in between but this is the final one with the final rewording for term #3.

Hi Nokigon,

Good to hear that we were able to resolve the issue of the SS mines early on, and thanks again for your efforts.

Our intent around restricting TVM settlement in Newlands is not a land claim in any sense of the definition. Given that there has been open hostility to our members in the past, it’s understandable that our members would express concern with having TVM building forces only squares away from our cities.

As an alternative, I would like to propose a 6 month ban on settlements in Newlands, with the cities named below being exodused from Newlands.

Phelony Exoduses Jagerin Schloss out of NewLands.

Lorcan Exoduses Wicklow out of NewLands.

BV exoduses Choctaw out of NewLands.

All members of DSD south have agreed to this and as for the mine that T-SC returned to SIN i have the following IGM to post:

We agree to withdraw from the mine, but we will withdraw from the mine only once the peace is officially signed. SHARK needs to pony up and put ink on the agreement.

T-SC is currently recalling all troops from the mine we control and has sent Shark a peace offer so, even though Shark has not signed the peace offer yet, we consider ourselves out of the war, since we have met all requirements of the peace arrangement targeted at us. As for the third condition, let it be known that T-SC is officially pulling out of the DSD.  Since all 3 conditions are now met, we will start moving our members into Storm.

SINmA Strikes Again;Another Triple Siege;Original Sieges No Longer There

Viking’s city Under Triple siege + blockade

SINmA has sent another three sieges, once again accompanied by a blockade to another B¦B player, Viking.

Viking [B¦B] X Happy Skeletons Forest [-235|38] in Meilla Deimo [SINmA] Tue 29 Sep 22:25

All are on Small hills, which do not favour Cavalry for siege-breaking. The towns current population is 11,728. We’ll see if it goes down any, as the previous triple siege has not appeared to have done anything to the town of Brown Pants, belonging to Nobby. This new attack is once again in Elgea, far from the support of other members in the Broken lands

NO statements have been forthcoming from either alliance, and the war declaration still stand on the Diplomacy pages of these two alliance.
