SIN Opens Up New Sieges in South on TUF

Screen Shot 2015-12-05 at 10.42.58 amAfter a long hiatus from siege operations, SIN has launched two new sieges on TUF in the south. The Herald’s siege section is currently reporting two different locales:

AianNick [TUF] Freiburg [207|-3143] in Shardlands OleBlacklord [SIN] Sat 27 Aug 04:00
kaven [TUF] just stolen [438|-3071] in Jurgor What The DEUCE? [SIN] Sat 27 Aug 04:00

The city of Freiburg sits in the middle of forests — a seemingly good location for SIN’s operation. However, TUF appears to be faring well on that operation, as the Times observed two sieges earlier, one of which is now gone. It is possible that tUF is using its vast reserves of infantry to gain superior kill ratios around Freiburg. At present, there are no blockades on the city, but armies appear to be coming in from the north.

Over at just stolen, SIN has set up on the only small hill around the city, which is two the west. Reports into the Times indicate heavy fighting here, but actual numbers are not currently known.

ON THE RUN: TUF’s AianNick Double-Exoduses Away From Dual SIN Sieges

Screen Shot 2015-07-22 at 10.11.02 AMIn the wake of settling peace with longtime combatant YARR, TUF has dodged two SIN siege operations, with boistrous GC antagonizer AianNick exodusing two cities — one from his main and another from his purported alt, ThorOdin.

SIN provided IGMs of both exoduses, the first coming midweek last week:

Your army named New Army 1 from 2. Far Far Away under orders to Siege target town Catch me if you can at location[208|-3129] in Shardlands has discovered that the target town is exodusing!

Your army will continue onto [208|-3129] in Shardlands where it’s orders to Siege are now to attack location [208|-3129] in Shardlands. Combat will resolve normally and your army will begin returning immediately after combat resolution.

Looking at the original placement of the city, it featured a building that likely would have made an optimal square for sieging the city.

Earlier this morning, SIN also provided evidence of a second exodus from one of its sieges, this time of AianNick’s main:

Looking at the terrain around Houston, the city was entirely surrounded by plains ecept for one small hill, making this exodus a bit more surprising.

This is now the third city that TUF has exodused away from SIN, with the first being Ken Rychard’s city of Segundun.

In earlier comments, TUF members mocked SIN for hitting what they perceived as soft targets in persona non grata and Dsasa, who they claim is a sat, semi-inactive account. “We can only congratulate Sin in their spectacular siege maneuver,” Nick said after the Dsasa siege. “Dsasa’s city was not protected by troups, we only concentrated to reduce some enemy troups. let s do the real deals and not kindergarten sieges on not relevant targets… but i understand Sin, they need any success now to keep up their reputation:)”

Agalloch himself made similar remarks during the Dsasa siege, quipping, “We hope SIN continues to waste troops on a sat account like dsasa, thanks for setting up on a forest guys!!! Keep up the good work!!!!

The fact that two active TUF accounts have double exodused away from SIN sieges after these comments may be evidence that the military alliance is looking to wind down its wars, after recently retiring its war with YARR after YARR leader Ranalos was reportedly banned for comments made in GC.

TUF-RE in Full Mêlée as YARR Siege on Josh Broken

RE’s Blaxx Stoneaxe appears to be taking the brunt of a shotgun approach to sieges by TUF, playing host to a string of operations against her in Elgea that seeks to capitalize on her isolation from the rest of the RE homeland in Westmarch. The Herald’s siege section is reporting on no less than 7 independent sieges, most of which are taking place in Perrigor:

Blaxx Stoneaxe [RE] Easy isolated target [192|-264] in Perrigor Spektor [TUF] Sun 17 Jul 22:15

Blaxx Stoneaxe [RE] Target of unbowed scrub [190|-269] in Perrigor Xander [TUF] Mon 18 Jul 02:01
Blaxx Stoneaxe [RE] Isolated easy target 2 [316|-241] in Perrigor Spektor [TUF] Mon 18 Jul 02:12

Blaxx Stoneaxe [RE] Target of unbowed scrub [189|-271] in Perrigor Spektor [TUF] Mon 18 Jul 03:33
Blaxx Stoneaxe [RE] Just bored [217|-267] in Perrigor Spektor [TUF] Mon 18 Jul 06:06

Blaxx Stoneaxe [RE] Easy isolated target [190|-265] in Perrigor AianNick [TUF] Mon 18 Jul 08:01
Blaxx Stoneaxe [RE] Banished from bl moses? [-46|341] in Norweld moses [TUF] Mon 18 Jul 08:54

The Roman Empire will be hard press to defend these cities and break so many concurrent sieges at once in Elgea.

Meanwhile, TUF has also appeared to have smashed yet another siege, this time breaking what looed like a robust attempt on Josh in Clarien. The siege break is yet another big defensive win for TUF, who is defying the odds against the triple-threat of YARR, RE and SIN by aggressively attacking what they perceive to be a weak RE, breaking sieges by YARR, and largely ignoring SIN. Even if SIN remains successful is sieges, TUF’s decisive wins against RE and YARR will allow them to outpace any losses and keep their momentum going.

Footnote: Persona Non Grata Razed Again

SIN officials shared a raze report from its recent siege against persona non grata:

beggars at my gates?, belonging to persona non grata which was located at 508|-2775 has been razed by OleBlacklord.

Because persona non grata left TUF prior to OleBlacklord’s sieges landing on the city, the raze will not count toward scoring on the TUF-SIN War Score Card, until or unless persona was to rejoin TUF. Because persona non grata formed the [way] alliance, declared war on SIN, and suffered a raze, the Times will publish a new way/SIN War Score Card to track sieges in this appendage of the TUF-SIN war.

RE on the Ropes Early as TUF Razes Another City

Screen Shot 2015-11-26 at 10.27.31 pmTUF appears to be focusing the majority of its offensive efforts on Roman Empire, with a new, active siege on an RE target in Elgea that has netted a raze. The Herald reported earlier on the details of the dual siege in its siege section:

parthenon [RE] Elfend [211|43] in Middle Kingdom Xander [TUF] Sun 10 Jul 17:18
parthenon [RE] Elfend [209|44] in Middle Kingdom AianNick [TUF] Sun 10 Jul 18:32

The dual siege by Xander and AianNick is well positioned in the Middle Kingdom amid dense forests around the city. The terrain combined with few supporting RE cities suggests that this is yet another opportunistic siege for TUF, who will easily pick up a siege victory in its ongoing war.

The raze, which was purportedly completed by AianNick, marks two successful sieges in a row where TUF will have risked little to achieve victories that, while not necessarily likely to drain RE troops or dramatically affect the outcome of the war, do show that TUF is in control in the early going of the war, putting together successful ops.
