The alliance known as Chaos has established a new land claim in the Broken Lands, putting into place what may be one of the strictest land claim policies in the game and dominating three major islands in the central-upper section of the BL map.
Chaos informed the Times of the new claim, which appears to be the first major claim of its type since YARR! expanded its land claim on December 5, 2015 to include all of the Pirate Isles as well as Death’s land claim in Pawanallpa. The Chaos claim reads as follows:
Effective as of May 21, 2016, Chaos [Chaos] claims the westernmost island and the easternmost island of Glanhad. We hereby declare a no-claim zone on the middle islands of Glanhad.
The rules of the No-Claim Zone are: No military alliance members may settle inside this area. The only alliances exempt from this rule are; Chaos and Roman Empire.
All cities settled or exodused in the Chaos land claim prior to May 21 that were there before this claim are free to remain and continue to grow. Any cities settled or exodused into the land claim after May 21 that are not affiliated with Chaos, Roman Empire [RE], or Love and Freedom [Laugh] will be asked to leave and/or removed by Chaos. Unaffiliated players who accidentally settle into the Chaos land claim can avoid removal by joining Chaos, RE, or Laugh. Chaos offers players who need to relocate their cities via exodus assistance in finding new plots in the BL outside of the Chaos claim.
The claim is similar to that of SIN’s in that no more cities are allowed to settle or exodus into the Gladhad Islands, effective immediately. What is unclear is how Chaos will interpret the stipulation that “no military alliance members may settle inside this area,” since some alliances who deem themselves a “military alliance” are decidedly non-militant, whereas other alliance who do not use this term can be quite aggressive.
Chaos’ new claim is also contentious in that it places it in close proximity to several other land claims, including the LOST claim in northwestern Newlands.
