UPDATE: PhoenixFire Defeats Bimoda’s Storm Force at Grayditch

From PhoenixFire’s profile page

Yesterday, the Times reported on two pivotal Stomp sieges in Elgea that appeared to be nearing success for the upstart alliance. In a surprising reversal, one of the two besieged cities appears to have turned the tables and repelled a storming attempt. Bimoda’s siege on Stark leader PhoenixFire’s city of Grayditch had taken the city’s population down substantially, indicating that it was ready to be stormed. However, a comment to the Times from PhoenixFire early this morning, server time, noted that the siege was indeed dead. “The storm force was destroyed at grayditch,” explained PhoenixFire. “Had Bimoda timed it slightly better the town would have been razed at 23:21 server time.” Correspondents were unable to confirm PhoenixFire’s account, however, according to the Illyriad tactical map and The Herald’s siege page, Bimoda’s siege is no longer active. At present, PF has yet to exodus Grayditch, leaving it exposed for follow-up attacks. The loss at Grayditch may be seen by some as a setback for Stomp, who are still looking for their first successful raze.

[UPDATE 20:05 ST: According to PhoenixFire’s profile page, Grayditch appears to have safely exodused.]

He-Man’s Mankini Mansion, Phoenixfire’s Grayditch Withering Under Stomp Sieges in Elgea

shutterstock_133805306After several days of intense fighting, two of the three Stomp siege sites in Elgea are beginning to show signs of success. He-Man’s Mankini Mansion and PhoenixFire’s Grayditch both have been observed as losing massive city population as bombardments have continued, in spite of T-O attempts to break the Mankini siege and what appears to be limited activity at Grayditch.

Closing in at 22:00 server time, Mankini Mansion was reported as having around 3,500 population, with 4 blockading forces and a siege force still solidly in place for Stomp. Over at Grayditch, the Times observed that the storm population had likely been surpassed by Bimoda, based on the city’s starting population. Bimoda could storm at any moment and deliver Stomp their first siege victory of the war.

And an implosion at Mankini could be close at hand as well.

The BL land claim alliances were able to rack up three razes in the outset of the war, thanks to opportunistic sieging by SIN who found themselves with close-in targets. For Stomps, the chance at answering those three sieges with two of their own in Elgea would go a long way for the up-start alliance, which is is seeking to strike out at alliances in the Broken Lands seeking to establish and enforce land claims.

Fairy Bimoda Sieges House Stark Leader in Elgea

While the sieges on He-Man’s Castle Greyskull and Mankini Mansion appear to be spinning their wheels in western Elgea, Stomps opened up an opportunistic, new siege on a BL land claim alliance city, this time targeting the leader of House Stark. At 16:43, Bimoda, a longtime member of Illyria Fairy Nation [Fairy], planted a fresh siege army in the small forest just south of PhoenixFire‘s Grayditch. At the time of this writing, Illyriad Times correspondents observed at least one additional reinforcing army joining the siege, along with one that arrive prior to the siege army. There is no additional word on troop numbers or troop composition on the siege, nor what resources PF has to stave off the siege, if any.

The arrival of Bimoda marks the first high-profile Fairy member to Stomps, a traditionally Elgean-based alliance that, under the guidance of longtime leader TanyaFairy, has established a foothold in the Broken Lands as well:

Bimoda joined Fairy in January of 2013, and with the exception of a very brief stint in the Fairy Roads Authority, has remained there ever since. Her willing departure to Stomp, combined with Fairy’s presence in the BL, is bound to raise questions as to whether Stomp may try to court Fairy in order to bolster the alliance’s presence in the south.
