TUF appears to be mounting a major, new counter-siege on The Pirate Republic, seeking to answer the string of three lost sieges in recent weeks with an alliance-wide siege operation. The Herald is reporting details of the siege in its Siege section:

Malus [YARR!]

Elven women and children

[274|-2544] in The Orken Coast

Elfs Bane [TUF]

Tue 31 May 18:02

It is believed that this is actually the city of Naggor, and that Malus has re-named it “Elven women and children” in order to troll the player Demdigs, who purportedly has become irate in recent weeks over comments made by another player named Comrade General, who often quips “death to elves!” in GC and recently joked about killing “elven women and children” as well. Although elves are not real, Demdigs has attributed this comment to Comrade General’s support of real-life murder.

That aside, the siege itself is located on a large mountain, potentially offering a powerful defensive advantage to the siege. The blockade on the city is also taking advantage of mountainous terrain.

TUF will look to gain a decisive siege victory here and stem the tide of losses. A siege win would tie the War Score Card again.

YARR Recalls Small Shardlands Siege, Claims Was Designed “To Get Some of Their Troops Moving”

Screen Shot 2015-07-28 at 9.18.42 AMYARR has recalled Malus’ siege on Mexican Dwarf in the Shardlands, with YARR officials claiming and TUF officials confirming that the siege was “a small one.”

In a note to the Times, TUF officials reported that “[t]he siege was recalled after one bombardment at 02:01,” and that the camp was only a ‘sea.'” TUF also provided a scout report of the camp, after they had purportedly peppered the siege with elite hits:

YARR/TUF War Shifts to Shardlands, As Malus Sieges Mex

Screen Shot 2015-10-02 at 9.13.12 amAfter a major siege battle in the deserts of Pawanallpa that led to the razing of TUF co-leader Agalloch’s city of Megadeth, the YARR/TUF war has taken another turn, with YARR looking to engage TUF elsewhere in the Broken Lands map.

The Herald’s siege section is reporting the details of the siege, which touched down midday, server time:

Mexican dwarf [TUF] Latino Land [331|-2769] in Shardlands Malus [YARR!] Fri 20 May 14:01

Malus has taken advantage of a small forest located to the west of the city for the siege. currently, there is no blockade in place.

TUF only has a hanful of cities in the immediate viscinity of Latino Land, however, there is a larger enclave of cities in the southern portion of Shardlands that could provide defensive support to the city and possibly challenge the siege army itself.

TUF Notches First Raze, Looks For Soft Target in Elgea; ajqtrz Stuns Siege on Doralia 2, But YARR Prevails

Similar to its still-ongoing war with Dlords, military alliance TUF continues to get off to a good start in its war with YARR, notching an opportunistic raze in Calumnex against YARR while making a strong showing in Almenly, shrugging off one siege operation on ajqtrz and stunning another that subsequently fell.

TUF officials confirmed the razing of YARR player Tang’s city of Popayan, which was originally located at 514|-2876 in the heart of the uncanny, glassy Calumnex terrain. TUF’s kaven picks up the official raze. TUF noted that Tang dropped from YARR’s roster after the siege landed, “probably because they realised they couldn’t defend it.”

YARR leader Solanar sought to frame the decision to drop Tang and capitulate Popayan as strategic, saying in comments on the Times that he “[k]icked Twang,” going on to note: “His sitter ran out the same day the siege hit, so not able to assist in any way. We did hit the sieges a bit though. Terrible ratios on our part. Cheers Tuf for hitting the weak link.”

In their note to the Times, TUF officials corroborated the prospective attempts to break the Twang siege: “There was two 10k t2 cavalry hits that attempted to break separate sieges but failed. These came from solanar and ranalos.” Continue reading

TUF, ajqtrz Shake off First Siege on Doralia 1 TDH in Almenly

Screen Shot 2015-10-19 at 10.07.37 pmTUF has managed to force a recall on YARR’s first siege on ajqtrz, saving his city of Doralia 1 TDH in Almenly from a single siege operation.

News came from TUF officials who confirmed that the siege on Doralia 1 TDH was indeed recalled after steady defensive hits on the siege camp. Other anonymous sources report that there was a successful sally forth attempt by ajqtrz on the siege camp composed mainly of elite forces that successfully stunned the siege and destroyed a good portion of the catapults. A follow-up hit on the camp failed to completely destroy the siege, but further crippled the catapult count, forcing a recall.

The city still has incoming, according to TUF officials.

For ajqtrz, it is his first siege break in the war, and puts TUF off on the right foot in terms of racking up moral defensive victory.

In other news, sources are telling the Times that there is a flurry of intense fighting and direct attacks on YARR and TUF cities involving tens if not hundreds of thousands of casualties, with major losses reported on both sides. More reports will be forthcoming as we collect additional information.

YARR Hits Back At TUF With Double-Team Siege of ajqtrz

Not to be outdone, YARR has struck back at TUF’s early, far-flung siege in Calumnex with a relatively isolated first siege of their own, targeting Illyriad philosopher ajqtrz. The Herald is reporting two sieges in their Siege section, which arrived around the same time:

ajqtrz [TUF] Doralia 2 TCT [5|-2513] in Almenly robmc [YARR!] Fri 06 May 12:26
ajqtrz [TUF] Doralia 2 TCT [6|-2511] in Almenly Malus [YARR!] Fri 06 May 12:55

The city of Doralia 2 is poorly placed for a military player such as ajqtrz, as it is completely surrounded by dense, large forests. While robms and Malus are men and elves, respectively, and their races are not nearly as renowned as dwarves for producing infantry units, it is likely that the YARR forces are taking advantage of the terrain and using infantry to protect the sieges.

Thus far, the Times has noted little activity around the siege camps, with TUF outposts at a considerable distance to consider a rescue attempt:

Screen Shot 2016-05-06 at 5.54.48 pm
red box: Doralia 2; green: TUF cities

ajqtrz will likely look to draw upon his local forces to repel the invaders.

This is not the first time that the city of Doralia 2 has made Times headlines. The original city was located here and razed by Broken Blades and razed by Shogun No Yari in the HIGH/B!B war. It appears that AJ respawned the city just four squares from the original borders of the city — which stands to get razed once again by a different alliance.

UPDATED 10:30 pm ST — The Times failed to report earlier that YARR is currently sieging another of ajqtrz’s cities, which appeared earlier in the Herald’s siege section:

ajqtrz [TUF] Doralia 1 TDH [-39|-2518] in Almenly Malus [YARR!] Fri 06 May 04:37

Interestingly, Doralia 1 also has an interest war history. The original city of Doralia 1 was AJ’s capital in the HIGH/B!B war, and was razed by SIN’s Ten Kulch, who joined the Broken Blades to partake in that war. It too is under immense pressure and could once again fall.
