SIN’s far-flung siege on an Unbow city in Coanhara has resulted in a sub-24-hour raze. The siege against Rudyjr by Plathus, which the Times reported on yesterday, arrived on site at 17:59. Documents provided to the Times from SIN officials reveal that PLathus stormed and razed the city at 16:15 today:

R09 Augusta, belonging to Rudyjr which was located at -483|-2224 has been razed by Plathus.
In revealing comments under the previous article, SIN Field Commander Ten Kulch offered detailed insights into the onset of the siege operation:
Highly interesting activity on this one. The city was locked down by a long feint (nice job, RudyJr!). When we launched the siege, it was a legendary city of about 27000 population. During the approach, the city’s population was cut -21000 down to 6000, and all the sov was canceled.
Scouts have shown that the city is empty, with two commanders returning from the feint, and no troops. Most likely Rudy attempted to disband the army by depleting all gold and setting taxes to 0. That would also explain the sov collapse. SIN discovered that technique doesn’t work during an early siege against one of our newer players, who accidentally pinned his city while attempting to dodge.
We are very excited to see if Rudy tries to dig his way out of this siege with prestige building. Since the city was 27000 when we launched, I think the team is still pumped up about a legendary fortress battle, even though RudyJr has demolished his own population by -21000 already.
However, prior to bombardment of the city beginning, Kulch reported that the city was in the process of being deleveled, ostensibly to make reducing the population through catapult volleys more difficult, since lover-levels reduce in population more slowly:
I should add that we later acquired a spy report. The big population buildings have all been lowered from 20 to 14-15. I assumed this was a preparation to prestige build up from the siege. That would be an exciting battle. But someone pointed out that the farms were also lowered to 12.
After racking our collective brains, the best theories were: 1. they were never built up from exodus (which seems far fetched for a 27000 population city), 2. they blew up when the taxes went to zero and the empty treasury killed the farm sov, which indiscriminately destroyed the buildings in reverse order, 3. it is deliberate damage to scuttle the city.
If anyone has another illuminating theory, I am all ears.
A most curious siege, and potentially either a very exciting one or a very dull one.
Times eyewitnesses believe that the latter was true for this siege, as our editorial staff did not note a single army hit either the siege or blockade. The light resistance is similar to what was reported on SiN’s other successful raze on the city of A3 Aerie yesterday.
For Plathus, this is is second successful siege — the first coming against Longfeather’s city of Head Feather on February 6, 2016. For SIN, it is their 19th successful siege.
