Titanic Leaves NSE, Hints That TUF Could Join War “If Things Get Worse;” Sithlordcharlie Flames Out On Honey Badger

Well-known Illyriad personality Titanic informed the Times that he has left NSE for TUF, and provided insights into the current progression of the Death/NSE war.

In a note to our editoral staff this morning, Server Time, Titanic indicated that he was leaving the embattled alliance. “I am now former NSE member,” explained Tinantic in his private message. He went on to claim that Death attacks were en route to at least one of his cities: “[I] can confirm on my end to the attacks — Death enroute to Titanicvilla — my capital. Not sure how many in NSE are under attack, but I am for sure, was almost instantanious. Death began threats months back, dispite the fact that we are not a BL alliance.”

At the time that Titanic sent his private message this morning, he had already left NSE and joined The Unfettered [TUF], a militaristic alliance with a growing footprint in the Broken Lands and founded by Elfs Bane, an ex-Stomp veteran. The Times followed up by asking if Titanic’s move to TUF was indicative of their willingness to back NSE in the war. “TUF will only get involved if things get worse,” Titanic replied, but added that “as they stand now, however, they have not progressed to be worse.”

Titanic also explained that his departure from NSE was directly tied to pressure from Death and the ensuring war declaration:

I left NSE over the constant threats from the Deathmongers that kept continuing. In a recent situation a player that was unaffiliated with an allinace desided to thieve a NSE player. After asking him to stop we caught him by tracing him still doing it- so the action we took was to launch an attack. He immediatly cried fowl in GC in which Deathmongers sent him an invite. Death then sent us a warning to stop attacking him or they would seige us, all this for defending our guy. We made a deal in which we could complete the first assult, however they went back on that and rather then stick to the deal desided to take out Sithlordcharlies men, despite the deal saying they wouldn’t. This in turn lead to things happening. In GC it was pointed out that NSE was attacking an unarmed player, to which it was mentioned that the unarmed player had been thieving the NSE player and thus the attacks stemmed from that. I further pointed out that we had been threatened for defending out guy in this way by Death. The Honey Badger saw this and right away cried fowl and declared war on NSE over that statement that was a true statement as seen in the past by others.

The Times is unable to confirm any of Titanic’s claim at the present time.

Death leader Honey Badger, however, has rebuffed claims that his alliance has specifically targeted NSE prior to Death finally issuing a war declaration, which appears to be in response to these accusations. Later today, the Times was sent a tense IGM communication between The Honey Badger and Sithlordcharlie that has been purportedly circulated to several people in the game. Sounds like you can’t taste your own medicine. You sent attacks at a player with only 2 cities.

Welcome to karma if you are quitting, allow me to show you the way out. There’s the button for you to go press, if you don’t plan on fighting back.

Well, I don’t like you. I think you have a bunch of conspiracy theories. That are false. Your alliance claiming we did everything. Absolutely wrong. Your alliance crumbled because you allowed it to. You can only cry lies so often, until someone gives you a reason to cry wolf. Congratulations. We gave you a reason.

WoT Member Joins Stark, Smashes Han Siege at Highgarden

Screen Shot 2015-07-26 at 3.37.16 PMThe Times has learned that the latest siege mounted by Shu-Han on House Stark has been broken by a Wheel of Time (WoT) member who joined Stark less than 10 hours before destroying the Han siege.

News of the siege break was provided by Stark leader Phoenixfire, noting that “the Siege on Highgarden was broken by Hawk at 23:47 july 25th.” No battle report was provided.

A quick search of Hawk’s profile revealed that he made the move to Stark on July 25th at 13:55 server time. Ten hours later, his forces broke what has become the second broken siege for Han.

Hawk maintains 9 large cities in the nearby Broken Lands region of Aindara.

The Times reached out to WoT’s The Diva and is awaiting an official response from WoT on Hawk’s departure from their alliance and their position in the war. WoT and Shark signed a confederation agreement yesterday at 25 15:49 ST.

Hawk’s addition to Stark follows Bimoda’s volunteering of help a day before. The additional personnel in Stark as well as the new confederation with WoT suggests to some that WoT plans to become militarily involved in the war and escalate it.

Ron Fay, Odoacer Accounts Bow Out of Stomps/Claimers War

Screen Shot 2015-07-25 at 9.34.52 PMStomps’ heavy hitter has stepped out of the war. The Times was alerted to the departure of Ron Fay from the land claim-fighting alliance, along with his alt Odoacer. Ron left at 19:14 server time today, and Odoacer shortly after.

Ron Fay has arguably played the biggest role in the war for Stomps militarily. He mounted a stellar offense against He-Man in the eastern Elgean deserts using both of his accounts — a feat that few have even dared in this game. After having to deal with a flurry of He-Man sieges early on in the war, a siege largely fueled by Fay’s own troops and siege assets finally brought down the desert orc’s Mankini Mansion on June 28th.

Few players can claim such a rare victory against what many would argue is the game’s most formidable military player.

[UPDATED] Bimoda Exits Stomps; Roster Down To 13

Yet another high-profile Stomps player has left the alliance roster. Following the departure of Josh on Wednesday and Agalloch yesterday, now Bimoda has joined the ranks of active Stomp warriors who are either moving on or going back to their permanent alliances.

Bimoda was arguably the most all-around effective player for Stomps in the war. In Elgea, she singlehandedly mounted two sieges against Phoenixfire, reducing the first city of Grayditch but failing at the last minute to storm the city, and prevailing on the second one, capturing PF’s city of Harrenhal.

Bimoda also played a key role behind the scenes in convincing Phoenixfire and House Stark to dissolve their land claim and exit the war. After downgrading the Stark claim to a simple claim-free zone that Stark calls a “Declaration of Homeland” or “DoH” for short, PF remarked, “We changed the policy after I was persuaded by bimoda on how the land claims are being abused.” Bimoda herself made an official post about the peace agreement between Stomp and Stark:

Stomp has accepted Stark’s request for peace.

Stark’s change in their stance to a Declaration of Homeland where they will not force other players from settling in their declared area, and their statement to us that they do not agree with the practice of land claim alliances forcibly removing cities from their claims, is evidence to us that there no longer a need for war between our two alliances.

Stomp supports their policy for a DoH and recognizes this as a preferable alternative to the closing off of large sections of the map to other players.

Bimoda’s exit from Stomps now leaves the alliance with 13 members and a dwindling footprint in the Broken Lands.

[UPDATED 17:05 ST — Bimoda indicated in a comment that she has not permanently left Stomps: “I have not left the war or the effort. Just a temporary leave to fulfill a promise.” Since then, she has joined House Stark, who is currently at war with Shu-Han.]

BREAKING: Josh Puts HumanResources, PublicRelations Accounts Into Stomp

Screen Shot 2015-07-07 at 11.12.53 PMThe Times has learned that the player known as “Josh” has moved both of his high-profile accounts into Stomp.

The move comes a little more than week after the HR account became embroiled in a controversy over attacks sent at SIN operations in Pawanallpa while still in Shark, and again after briefly joining nCrow before being quickly booted from the alliance. The attacks, ostensibly unsanctioned by both Shark and nCrow, has put Josh at odds with nCrow, with Crow’s Nest Elder commenting on the Times that “he’s made some significant enemies and burnt many bridges. SIN is likely not his biggest concern presently.” Similar sentiments may exist in the Shark camp as well, which calls into question whether the Crows could seek to take action against HR while he is in Stomps.

Josh has vehemently denied deliberately misleading anyone in his attacks on SIN, insisting he was only helping out a friend in defense:

[20:20]<HumanResources> No one was duped. No one was fooled.
There were no hidden intentions behind joining nCrow or anything of the sort.
All your rants, assumptions and speculation has nothing to it.
I am simply JOSH. I play differently than you do.
Making me look this bad is not nice of you
Thanks

HR had indicated previously in GC that SIN was already conducting military operations against his BL assets before joining Stomps, and the Times has learned that Josh and SIN leadership may have discussed surrender terms for the HR account, which, if true, clearly broke down, precipitating his move to Stomps.

JOSH UPDATE: HR to nCrow, PR Remains Unaffiliated

In a deft political move, Josh’s HumanResources account has been accepted into the Crow’s Nest [nCrow] — a move that comes after days of the HR account purportedly being used to launch defensive attacks on BL Land Claim alliance operations against Valdorum in Pawanallpa.

Josh’s new home in nCrow could complicate any planned land claimer efforts to potentially seek retribution against him in the Broken Lands. Now, as an nCrow member, any attacks against HumanResources could be met with nCrow defensive support, potentially leading to the first major escalation since the outset of the war.

The Crow’s Nest, while a predominantly Elgean alliance, has begun to develop a colony of well-developed cities in the north regions of the Broken Lands. In the map below, the red box indicates HR’s relative cluster in Pawanallpa, and the green cities are nCrow positions:

Screen Shot 2015-07-01 at 2.22.04 PM

nCrow would be well-positioned to defend Josh against counter-assaults should they choose to enter the war. Another major political consideration is that nCrow is a member of the powerful GA coalition, which successfully led an impressive military campaign in the Great War that led to the decimation of once-powerful alliances like H? and NC, establishing the GA alliances as the predominant power block in the game.

At present, nCrow has made no official statement in the Illy Forums or elsewhere about their acceptance of Josh’s HR account, nor have their characterized their willingness to enter the current war.

Josh Leaves Shark, vCrow; HumanResources Account Reportedly Hit SIN Blockades While Still in Shark

HumanResourcesThe high-profile Illyriad player known as “Josh” has dropped both of his accounts out of their respective Elgean powerhouse alliances and is reportedly using his unaffiliated HumanResources account to aid Stomp in the defense of embattled cities in Pawanallpa.

According to a comment left at the Times, HumanResources has hit SIN blockades on Valdorum’s cities of New Settlement and Leningrad. The report also reveals that the first attack on New Settlement by HR was sent while the account was still in Shark. The pasted combat report provided by SIN shows that the attack landed at 29 Jun 2015 04:13 server time. The Times confirmed from HR’s profile page that he did not leave Shark until later in the day:

HumanResources Dark Shade [SHARK] 30 Mar 2015 12:03 to 29 Jun 2015 12:48

SIN asked for the combat report to not be shared publicly, but stated that concerned alliance leaders could make a request to see it by contacting SIN leader Chandrian.

Josh’s two accounts have afforded him access to the two top alliances in the game. His HumanResources account has been in Shark since the end of March, while his PublicRelations account joined vCrow in early February. Both accounts, which are sizable, have cities in the Broken Lands: PublicRelations maintains a city in the High Hills called Untamed Generousity, while the HR account 5 cities in Pawanallpa. These Pawanallpa cities are likely fueling his efforts to defend embattled Stomp cities in the region.

In addition to the report from SIN, the Times also noted that Death’s siege against CleopatraMurk’s city of Pampas is now ended as well. It remains unclear if that siege was recalled by Death, or if it was broken by Stomps and/or HR forces.

This is not the first time that Josh has supported a small, upstart alliance on a singular mission. In late January, he put both his PR and HR accounts into the Censored Unicorn Cult [CUC], which was designed for the sole purpose of sieging Illyria Fairy Alliance leader TanyaFairy and declaring war on the affiliated Fairy Roads Authority [Roads].

Josh is said to be a superb fighter with strong tactical and strategic skills in the field. Whether he officially joins Stomp or not, his military prowess could be a major help in Stomp’s campaign into the Broken Lands, either as a defender or offensive player.

The Times asks players and alliances involved in this story to post clarifying remarks as comments under the story so that readers can have complete access to the reportage.
