Dlords’ Ranalos Breaks Multiple Fairy Sieges as Cornucopia-sized Siege Fails To Raze

Dlords’ Ranalos breaking one of a series of sieges as part of a major operation to topple his city of Dalekograd.

A series of sieges, which began with a reportedly cornucopia-sized reinforcement force from Fairy has ended in yet another decisive siege break for Dlord, who continue to string together unanswered razes and siege breaks in the ongoing war. Yesterday, the Times reported on the initiation of a new siege in Meilla by Fairy Erebus against Ranalos’ sprawling city of Dalekograd. Early unsubstantiated reports from GC suggested that the siege encountered execution issues by Fairy early on, with several reinforcing units bouncing off the siege camp, apparently the result of a new Fairy member mis-setting their units.

According to a reliable tip to the Times, however, Ranalos has rebuffed several siege camps, finally neutralizing the operation against his Meillian city. The Times updated the original report earlier when yet another siege from Erebus touched down, which, according to our tipster, was quickly dispatched by Dlords defense forces.

The graphic provided by the tipster shows “video” of one of the siege camps being hit and destroyed in the sequence.

According to the War Score Card for this war, this was Ranalos’ second major siege break, both of which reportedly involved him breaking multiple siege armies. In total, the Dlords have accrued 10 total points to the Fairies’ 1 point, and have racked up 10 unanswered points in the form of razes, captures and siege breaks since the first major war of the operation that led to Fairy breaking Belegar Ironhammer’s siege of Mellificient’s city of Veran,

The second operation in the war involving a Dlord siege led to the revelation that some members of Fairy were using an exploit allowing them to multiple commanders from the same city. Since the game developers have closed that exploit and banned several members of Fairy, the pixie-based alliance has yet to register another decisive win on the battlefield against their squatty rivals.

[UPDATED] Fairy Sets Up Cornicopia-sized Siege on Dlords, Amid Claims of Abortive Effort

[UPDATED November 14, 2015, 4:15 pm ST] After appearing to disengage their siege, Fairy has relaunched the siege on this city, with the siege notice appearing in GC:

[16:11]<System> ** News Flash: Ranalos’ [Dlord]sprawling city of Dalekograd is now under siege byErebus’ [Fairy] legendary city of Acheron

In its first major siege operation of the war, Fairy has put down what appears to be a substantial siege against the Dlords in Meilla. The details of the siege were posted in the Herald siege section:

Ranalos [Dlord] Dalekograd [-156|68] in Meilla Rhaenyra [Fairy] Fri 13 Nov 11:47
At present, the siege is set up on plains on the south square, with an occupying army on the southeast square, also on plains — possibly ahead of a blockade. The small forest to the east of the city is not utilized by Fairy — perhaps assuming that the dominance of infantry units in the dwarven race and their utility in forest warfare would be a strength for them in breaking this siege.
The Times observed a dialogue in GC involving Ranalos and other players as the siege was just setting up that appeared to indicate that the siege army was Cornucopia-sized:
[11:47]<System> ** News Flash: Ranalos’ [Dlord]sprawling city of Dalekograd is now under siege by Rhaenyra’s [Fairy] huge city of Tessarion
[11:47]<Ranalos> ❤
[11:48]<Ranalos> No 1 minute siege break this time they have a Cornucopia of reinforcements lol
Veteran Fairy member Bimoda also made an appearance amid a discussion that seemed to indicate that there were several miscues by Fairy members in establishing the siege camp:
[12:06]<Bimoda> Good mornin Ranalos
[12:06]<Ranalos> g’morning Bimoda
[12:06]<Ranalos> Pleasant day for a mass assault eh?
[12:07]<Bimoda> Always a pleasant day
[12:06]<Artefore> So what happened here bim?
[12:07]<HATHALDIR> are there engines on the way in?
[12:08]<Bimoda>
[12:08]<Ranalos> they’ve bounced some armies, more than one set to siege on the same square =\
[12:08]<Patience King> lmao ?
[12:16]<HATHALDIR> Rano, whatshappening now?
[12:16]*PublicRelations follows this intriguing GC reporting intensely
[12:17]<Ranalos> two armies hit me directly, it appears 5 bounced, 2 more on my incoming list
[12:17]<HATHALDIR> their could be a few demotions in FAIRY i’d suggest
[12:18]<HATHALDIR> more bounced than landed?
[12:18]<Ranalos> Also an encampment landed early, so we have some strategies in play
[12:18]<Ranalos> Well so far
[12:20]<HATHALDIR> and i bet they put it to seige, so anythin with engines goes boing
[12:21]<Ranalos> Another one bounced.
[12:21]<HATHALDIR> damn people spreadsheet will get you through this
[12:22]<Ranalos> Also more reinforcements arrived
12:31]<Bimoda> Ranalos, don’t worry about the bounces we had a newer player want to play too and it looks like she sent wrong. Her armies weren’t anything of consequence anyway.
[12:31]<Ranalos> I thought maybe you were toying with me
[12:32]<Artefore> Hath, someone has to root for the underdog.
[12:32]<Bimoda> That’s what the campers were for.
[12:36]<HATHALDIR> another castle hit coming?
[12:36]<Ranalos> 4 minutes to find out
[12:41]<HATHALDIR> and….?
[12:41]<Ranalos> It bounced
[12:41]<HATHALDIR> any engines in the seige?
[12:42]<Artefore> No.
[12:43]<HATHALDIR> epic fail
[12:48]<Ranalos> naah must be more encampments
[12:48]<Ranalos> 8 armies set to siege on the same square

[12:48]<HATHALDIR> onemore incomn?
[12:48]<Ranalos> naah must be more encampments

[12:50]<HATHALDIR> won’t matter
[12:50]<GregoRokin> it’s like playing rugby with schoolgirls
[12:50]<Belegar Ironhammer> lol
[12:51]<GregoRokin> Shame on you!
[12:51]<Belegar Ironhammer> hey now lol
[12:51]<Ranalos> They’ve managed a fierce number of troops, more than I would have supposed they had left
[12:53]<Willd Elff> *runns in yells* Happy Friday the 13th!!!!!!
[12:54]*Arx walks under a ladder, with a black cat, standing on mirrors.
[12:54]<HATHALDIR> They managed to take a feirce number of troops on walk up the garden path
[12:54]<Ranalos> well they’ll have them back in a week and can try again I suppose
[12:55]<HATHALDIR> i bet your troop sov will have fixed that by then
[12:56]<Ranalos> hehehehe
[12:58]<HATHALDIR> i was really hoping for a big tussle
[12:58]<GregoRokin> pixies swarm
[12:59]<HATHALDIR> Fairy Dust is all Ranalos got
[12:54]<HATHALDIR> They managed to take a feirce number of troops on walk up the garden path
[12:54]<Ranalos> well they’ll have them back in a week and can try again I suppose
[12:55]<HATHALDIR> i bet your troop sov will have fixed that by then
[12:56]<Ranalos> hehehehe
[12:58]<HATHALDIR> i was really hoping for a big tussle
[12:58]<GregoRokin> pixies swarm
[12:59]<HATHALDIR> Fairy Dust is all Ranalos got
In spite of the derision levied at Fairy in GC, at present their siege still appears intact. What remains to be seen is whether or not there are any catapults in the siege, as the conversation above suggests that the real siege may have bounced after a new player set an occupy camp to “siege,” which arrived first.
The Times will update this story as more information becomes available.
