SHARK-VIC Tries To Siege SIN in Fellandire Land Claim For 9th Time

Screen Shot 2015-07-10 at 7.27.01 PMThe SHARK-VIC confederacy is once again attempting to raze a SIN city in its land claim, marching a new siege to an old target. The Herald’s siege section announced a fresh siege on Queen Bikini’s city of Exxotica:

Queen Bikini [SIN] Exxotica [725|-2373] in Fellandire Valdorum [VIC] Mon 25 Jan 02:57

This is not the first time Exxotica has been in the news: the city was sieged by acrid axiom [VIC] on January 7th, and subsequently broken the following day. The city is likely a repeat target due to the presence of a fortified hostel on the northwest corner of the city, which enemy forces occupy in order to take advantage of the optimal defense terrain — infantry defend exceptionally well in buildings, and spears and bows are effective as well. Most importantly, cavalry are wasted on buildings, which would necessarily force SIN to use its slow-moving infantry to break this siege.

All nine sieges on SIN by SHARK-VIC in the Fellandire land claim have been staged either in forests or buildings — a strategy that is likely depleting SIN’s infantry. The last siege on Ayraelf — also a retargeting of a poorly-placed SIN city — was a more contentious one, with the city taking considerable damage before being broken. SIN may be light on resources to break a building siege, adding potential intrigue to this operation.

If VIC is successful, a raze in the SIN land claim could provide a much-needed lift to a flagging performance by the SHARK-VIC confederacy thus far.

AJ’s City Razed by B!B, TVM Triumphs Against Stomps in Northmarch

Morning this day in Illyriad opened to the completion of two high profile sieges, marking the first blood drawn in the B!B/HIGH conflict as well as the sixth successful razing of a Stomps city in the Broken lands.

In the late hours, server time, B!B reportedly took down ajqtrz2’s city of Elgoria 2 BH-B2. As of last night, there had been fierce fighting in the dense Almenly forests at the site of the siege, with AJ and his compatriots mounting the best defense they could muster. The Times reported yesterday that the B!B blockade was successfully broken, which allowed HIGH to run much-needed basic resources into the city for prestige building. However, the dual B!B sieges, which landed at precisely the same time and were firing on the hour, must have proved insurmountable even to pres building as the catapults became increasingly accurate over time.

Over in Northmarch, however, it was the tale of two cities, as TVM’s successful raze of Valdorum proved to be a variable cakewalk compared to AJ’s tenacious defense.

TVM, Stomp Spar in Northmarch; Valdorum Under Siege

Screen Shot 2015-07-13 at 9.40.41 AMTrivium and Stomp are set to do battle for the first time in the Broken Lands, with TVM managing to set down a siege camp on Valdorum’s recently exodused city in Northmarch.

Word of the siege came at midnight server time when the Herald posted the siege details in their siege section:

Player Under Siege: Valdorum [Stomp] City Under Siege: Trivium can Suck It [-562|-1806] in Northmarch Under Siege By: Lorcan [TVM] Date: Mon 13 Jul 00:00

A secondary siege was established later by TVM’s Lord Moonpie at 05:38 ST. Currently, TVM is utilizing 5 squares to siege from in Northmarch. Valdorum chose a strong spot to settle on, as the city is surrounded by plains, which exposes siege and blockade armies to potentially withering siege-breaking cavalry attacks from Stomps. Look for Stomps to potentially use cavalry from Elgea to break this siege as well as from cities in the BL.

To try and mitigate the poor terrain for offense, TVM has two sieges and three blockades. Often times, alliances will use 6 to 8 squares for plains sieges to deny their opponents one simple target. However, it remains to be seen if two siege armies will get the job done for TVM, given Stomps’ potent military players.

The city “Trivium can Suck It” is Valdorum’s State of Grace, which made headlines last week when a reader tipped off the Times that this city had originally been the target of a SIN siege in Pawanallpa, but successfully exodused away. It appears that TVM put an operation in place in order to take advantage of the city’s vulnerability after the exodus. After cities exodus in Illyriad, they are subject to a 5-day “cooldown” period where military and diplomatic units cannot be used, nor can the city re-exodus.

In a comment to the Times about this siege, Stomp alliance leader Pico stated that “the majority of Sin´s razes have been against small pop towns, small stomp players, brought in to take on smaller alliances with land claims.”

Given the fact that Stomps is substantially outnumbered in the Broken Lands, the upstart alliance has effectively used exodus to avoid a number of sieges in the BL, the most high-profile of which was Ron Fay’s city of La Vila Strangiato, which exodused to Elgea from the Newlands to avoid TVM’s first siege attempt in the war, and has since reappeared in Pawanallpa to join the fight there and provide support to embattled Stomp cities.

Report: Valdorum Exodused City Away From SIN Siege State of Grace

Screen Shot 2015-07-08 at 9.09.59 AMStomp’s Valdorum appears to have exodused a city out of Puchpuallpa, just along the border with Pawanallpa, in order to avoid yet another siege on one of his Broken Lands-based cities.

Yesterday, the Times received a tip from a source who provided a copy of an exodus report, indicating that Valdorum’s city State of Grace had indeed dodged an inbound SIN siege into Pawanallpa.

The city, which was originally positioned at coordinates 368|-1553, exodused away on July 3rd at 17:54, server time. The Times was able to corroborate this report with Valdorum’s growth chart on his profile .

However, unlike Ron Fay’s early exodus out of the Newlands in the face of a TVM siege that saw his city of La Villa Strangiato move back to Elgea, Valdorum has kept his exodused city in the Broken Lands. Currently, State of Grace resides in Northmarch, still well within reach of BL land claim forces.

Stomper Valdorum’s City “Land Claims will Die” Razed by BL Claim Alliances in Pawanallpa

The BL land claim alliances appeared to have notched a new siege in the first war to challenge alliance land claims in the Broken Lands, with Stomper Valdorum losing a city to SIN in Pawanallpa.

As of this morning, server time, the SIN siege on “New Settlement” being led by Stukahh had disappeared from the siege list. A comment posted by a SIN member to the Times revealed not only the time, but also the presumed last-minute name change to the city by Valdorum to “Land Claims will Die” in a bid to make one final statement on the raze report.

The city officially fell on 03 Jul 2015 at 3:23 am ST. SIN’s reinforcing armies already appeared to be departing the battlefield.
